LEMANG / PULUT SNACKS CULTURE DAYAK
 
Lemang or Pulut is snack made  from glutinous rice and coconut oil. Use banana leaves as wrapper and bamboo. Enter glutinous rice first in bamboo hole that has been coated banana leaves, after full pour coconut oil and make sure the put glutinous rice with solid. Simple and easy to prepare the material, but burning bamboo is fairly complicated job. Roast process using firewood, it's so traditional and take 3 hours for roasted until cooked.

The taste is delicious, savoury and tempting aroma to hungry stomach. Lemang texture seems sticky and greasy. You can enjoy it by eat lemang in original taste or you can adding another menu like fish/chicken curry. Enjoy it when warm, hmmm so yummy.

For Dayak people lemang is call Pulut, Dayak people serve pulut for celebration, people party, wedding ceremony, thanksgiving and traditional ceremonies. Pulut served during the ceremonies symbolizes the triumph of life, have a long life.
